Gülşehir
Located at the southern end of Kızılırmak, 20 km from Nevşehir, the ancient name of the town is Zoropassos, its old name is Arapsun. Another Ottoman Grand Vizier, Karavezir Mehmet Seyyid Pasha, Damat İbrahim Pasha's construction in Nevşehir was also done in Gülşehir and equipped Gülşehir with 30 residences, including a complex. The complex consists of a mosque, a madrasah and a fountain. Açıksaray ruins, 3 km away from Gülşehir, was an important episcopacy center with its numerous places carved into tuff rocks, rock tombs from the Roman Period, rock churches dating to the 9th and 10th centuries. The mihrab of the place, known as Hacı Bektaş Veli Masjid among the people, draws attention in terms of being an Islamic structure that has been preserved until today. There are high niches in the western part of the square planned mosque.
