Hayrabolu

Hayrabolu is one of the oldest settlements of Thrace. Although it was first conquered by the Turks in 1358, it was taken back by the Roman Empire a short time later. In 1368, during the reign of Sultan Murad I, it was taken back from the Roman Empire for the second and last time. After this date, families selected from various parts of Anatolia, especially around Kayseri and Sivas, were settled in Hayrabolu and its surroundings.

Its old name was Chariupolis (Hanri-polis; Windy city). Its current name is Hanripol after its second conquest; It was changed to Hayri-bol and has come to the present day as "Hayrabolu". Its distance from Tekirdag city center is 52 km. The population of the district city center in 2008 Tuik census is 19096 towns and villages 18,326 district villages, towns and cities total is 37,422.
