Iğdır

Iğdır is the province that is the center of Iğdır province. It is located in Erzurum - Kars Section of the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. The city center consists of 3 towns and 49 villages. The population of the central district of Iğdır is 96,887 according to the 2020 ABPRS census, and it is 142,559 together with the village and town population.

Two-thirds of the area of Mount Ararat, Turkey's highest mountain, is within the borders of Suveren village of the city center.

Located at an important cultural crossroads, Iğdır is also a neighbor of Armenia. Aras River, which defines Turkey's border with Armenia, joins with Arpaçay and flows along the borders of Iğdır. This river is a kind of lifeblood of the people of Iğdır.
