İliç

The district is famous for its Tulum cheese. Agriculture and sheep and goat farming generally constitute the economy of the district. Beekeeping is also partly done. The most important historical monument of the district is the large fountain known as the "clock fountain". İliç was a village connected to the town, now known as Kuruçay Village, before 1939. However, with the passing of the railway in 1939, the district center was moved from Kuruçay to İliç. The first settlement was in the upper parts of the district, now known as Karataş Mahallesi. Later, the district expanded towards the Karasu River.
