Kargı
Kargı is a district of Çorum province. It is stated that the name of Kargi before the settlement of the Turks was Blaene. This name is still used by the locals of Blaene for the location near Günyazı village. Towards the end of the 11th century, the region including Kargı came under Turkish rule, but Kargı could not come to an important position for many years. In the tahrir of 1521, the settlement, which was all from the Muslim population, connected to the Çankırı sanjak, is seen as a small town to which 44 villages are affiliated. The population of the settlement increased significantly in the 1579 census, and the district center with 177 households consists of Hacı İlyas, Nefs-i Kargı, Câmi-i Kebîr and İmam Beğ districts. The settlement, which was seen as a township of the Tosya district in the late 19th century, was connected to the Osmancık district of the Çorum sanjak in 1914, and it is seen that it was again connected to the Tosya district in the records of 1927. It was made a district in 1936 and connected to Kastamonu province and in 1956 to Çorum province.
