Karlıova

Karlıova District, after the Hittite and Hurrian domination, BC. It was conquered by the Byzantines in 40 years. Hz. During the time of Omar, he joined the lands of the Islamic states. After coming under the dominance of the Seljuks after 1071, they came under the rule of Mengüçoğulları, İlhanlılar, Celayırs, Akkoyuns and Safaris. After the proclamation of the Republic, it was a settlement connected to the province of Muş until 1936, but in 1936 it was connected to the province of Bingöl as a district.

Karlıova District was formerly a district center of Muş province and took the name Bingöl, and in 1936 it was connected to the province of Çapakçur (Bingöl). With the law enacted in 1938, its name was changed to Karlıova.
