Kocaköy
The name of the district is mentioned as Karas or Karaz in the records of 1869 and 1915. On July 22, 1975, it became a municipality by taking the status of municipality. Kocaköy gained the status of a district with the law published in the Official Gazette dated 20.05.1990 and numbered 20523.
There are historical ruins within the boundaries of the district. It is possible to come across 7000 years old ruins and ruins in Diyarê Mâlan, west of Kocaköy. Again, there are Karaz caves in the east and west. Rock tombs can be found in the Ambar valley. There are mounds from the Assyrian, Hittite and Urartian periods in Ambar village, and mounds in the Harem neighborhood and Çaytepe and Suçıktı villages in the Gırê Haci locality. There are 33 companion graves in Zıbedi locality between Tepecik Bozbağlar villages. There are many caves from the surrounding villages.
