Koyulhisar

Koyulhisar is the northernmost district of Sivas, which falls into the Black Sea climate and geographical region.

It was a district of Şebinkarahisar, which was a province from 1923 to 1933. As a result of the efforts made for the reorganization of the provinces, many provinces were turned into districts, while Şebinkarahisar was turned into a district with the law numbered 2197 on 20 May 1933, and Koyulhisar was connected to Sivas after this date.

A significant part of the local people are Turkmen, Chepni, as in other districts in the vicinity.
