Maden
Maden district is a district of Elazığ with a population of 10,329, established on the skirts of Mihrap Mountain, on the banks of the Maden Stream, on the slopes of a valley. Maden, which is very rich in terms of underground resources, is one of the most valuable mineral basins in Turkey. The history of the district dates back to 2000 BC, according to known historical sources. Maden district was established in the Eastern Anatolia Region, at the foot of the Southeastern Taurus Mountains, in the Upper Euphrates section, by the Tigris river. Most of the Maden district is mountainous and rugged.
