Malkara
Malkara is a district of Tekirdag province. It is located approximately 56 km west of the city centre.

Malkara, which is 56 km away from Tekirdağ, is surrounded by Uzunköprü in the northwest, Süleymanpaşa and Hayrabolu in the northeast, Şarköy in the southeast, Gelibolu in the south and Keşan in the west. With an area of 1,149 km², it is the largest district of Tekirdağ province.
Malkara remained attached to Gallipoli until 1870, at this time it was connected to Tekfurdağ Sanjak (Tekirdağ) of Edirne province. According to some records, Malkara became a district in 1880.
