Mazıdağı

Mazıdağı was established in the Tigris Section of the Southeastern Anatolia Region, 47 km northwest of Mardin, at an altitude of 1030-1090 meters and on the plain in the middle of the circular mountain range from which it is named. While it was a sub-district of Savur and Derik districts, respectively, it became a district on 9 June 1937. The area of the district is 869 km².
