Mengen
Mengen is a forested region and has high plateaus. The main ones are; Soğucak, Akçakoca, Bürnük, Sırıklı, Çukur Highland, Çorakkadirler Highland, Göl Highland, Aktepe, Ağalar, Küçükkuz, Chichivler, Mamatlar, Elemen and Afşar Highlands. Ödek, Kemal Savaş, Şirinyazı and Hızarderesi Ponds are important recreation areas. The biggest feature of Mengen; It is very famous chefs. The traditional "Mengen Cooks and Tourism Festival" is held every year. This festival is celebrated internationally. Anadolu Cookery Vocational High School started education in 1985 and gave its first graduates in 1992. Later, Cookery High School was opened within the body of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. The 4-year Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of the same university is located in this district.
