Meram

Meram is one of the central districts of Konya province and is located in the southwestern part of the city. It is in the center where five important roads pass, namely Ankara-Konya, Isparta-Konya, Antalya-Konya, Mersin-Konya and Adana-Konya.

While Evliya Çelebi talks about vineyards, gardens and orchards among the places he has visited in his travel book, he always uses the expression "Bağ-ı Meram" (Meram Vineyard) to these places. He even states that these places are like Konya's Meram. St. Paul's Church, the last church of Konya, is located here.
