Meriç

Meriç is a town in the Thrace part of the Marmara Region, the district and district center of the province of Edirne. Meriç district is surrounded by Uzunköprü in the east and southeast, İpsala districts in the south, and Greece in the west and north with a 56 km border. The district takes its name from the Meriç River and consists of 2 towns and 21 villages. The natural borders of the district are drawn by the Ergene River in the southeast and south, and the Meriç River in the west and north. The lands of the district consist of undulating plains and plains between these rivers. Its height above sea level is 34 meters on average. Its highest point is 133 m.
