Nevşehir Center

Nevşehir is the city that is the center of Nevşehir province. Its ancient name is Nissa. It was conquered during the Seljuk period and its name was Muskara. The famous grand vizier of the Tulip Era, Damat İbrahim Pasha, was born here and had a significant impact on the development of the region by reconstructing the city and leading the construction of buildings such as inns, mosques and baths. He changed his name and gave it the name Nevşehir, which means "New City" in Persian.
