Of

It is a town located in the east of Trabzon province and its history dates back to ancient times. Its land is formed by the lower basins of Solaklı and Baltacı streams, which flow from Of to the Black Sea. There are Hayrat and Associationpazarı districts in the south of the district, Rize province in the east, Sürmene district in the west and Black Sea in the north. The borders of the district, which had a larger surface area during the Ottoman period and the first years of the Republic, narrowed when Çaykara became districts in 1948, and Associationpazarı and Hayrat became districts in 1990.

The Municipality of Of is a well-established municipality founded in 1874. Atatürk Boulevard, the biggest boulevard of Of, was formed by the renunciation of many people in the arrangement made by President İsmail Sefa Sarıalioğlu.
