Onikişubat

Onikisubat is a district of Kahramanmaraş province. It became a district as a result of the division of the central district of Kahramanmaraş into two with the law numbered 6360, which was accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on November 12, 2012. With a population of 357,870, it is the largest district of Kahramanmaraş. The name of the district comes from the French and Armenian occupation of Maraş. It became "Twelve February" in reference to the date of his liberation, February 12, 1920. Large-scale events are held every year on February 12 in both Onikisubat and Dulkadiroğlu.
