Pazaryeri
In the Ottoman sources of 1530, the settlement is mentioned as the center of the town with the name "Armenian Market". Later, the name of the settlement became Pazarcık. Its name, which is still known as Pazarcık among the people, was changed to Pazaryeri because it was confused with Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş province. Pazaryeri district is a small district of Bilecik province located in the east of the Marmara Region. It is surrounded by Bozüyük in the east and south, İnegöl district of Bursa in the west and Bilecik central district in the north. Its area is 399 square kilometers. Although the district is located in the Marmara Region, its climate is harsh and continental. It forms the transition zone where the climates of the Aegean, Western Black Sea and Central Anatolia Regions show their effects from time to time. The topographic structure of the district is rugged and scattered. There are small plains within valleys in the appearance of a plateau. In the town center, Kireçlik Hill is 890 m, Ahi Mountain is 1110 m in the west, Esemen Ridges (Dokuzökuz Mountains) in the north, Uzunçam, Karateke and Kertalan Ridges, the continuation of Ahi Mountain in the south, have altitudes varying between 1000-1500 m. The altitude of the district is 810 m and the land structure is low towards the east. The parts of the district land used as agricultural land (12204 ha) are a plain surrounded by mountains on three sides. The Sorgun Stream, which runs through the northern part of the plain, the Karasu Stream, which runs through the east, and the streams feeding them are used as irrigation. Ponds such as Küçükelmalı, Bozcaarmut, Esere, Kamçı, Sorgun, Büyükelmalı, Sarnıç, which were built on these streams and streams and took their names from the places where they were founded, had positive effects on the irrigation of agricultural lands and the local climate. A large part of the land of Pazaryeri district (87%) is covered with forests. The remaining 13% consists of very fertile lands. 6% of these lands have this plant, which is the raw material of yeast, an ivy-type plant called hops, while wheat is planted on the remaining 4%, and pole bean and flat bean is planted on the remaining 3%. Pazaryeri is the busiest Hops production center in Turkey. Kınık Village, formerly known as Hotanlı, is one of Turkey's leading centers for making earthenware, earthen vases, jugs and pottery. Today, Pazaryeri is called the "Land of Ponds" and stands out with this feature. At the weekend, it receives heavy visitors from nearby centers such as Bilecik, Bursa, Eskişehir, Kütahya.
