Thursday, formerly Vona, is a district of Ordu province, located on the Vona Peninsula. Thursday remained under Roman and Byzantine rule for a long time. In 1461, after Fatih Sultan Mehmet eliminated the Trabzon Empire, Vona came under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. In 1945, it became a district.
