Saray
Today's Saray District was established in 1869 under the name Mahmudiye, and after 1948 it remained as a sub-district center of Özalp District. It became a district in 1990. The District Center was established in the upper part of the Saray Plain. The mountains to the east form the border with the Iranian State. Its area is 1,334 km2. It is bordered by Çaldıran District to the north, Özalp District to the northwest, Van City Center to the southwest, and Gürpınar District to the south. It is 75 km from the city center.
