Şefaatli

Intercession is a district located in the south of Yozgat province, bordering Kırşehir and Nevşehir, and 41 km from the city center.

Sefaatli, which was a small village during the Ottoman period, started to develop after the Ankara-Kars railway was put into service during the Republic of Turkey. In 1954, it became a district of Yozgat.

It is at an altitude of 907 m above sea level. There are 3 town municipalities and 41 villages connected to the district with an area of 1,870 km². Most of the district, where the continental climate is seen, is steppe. Streams are generally wooded.

Most of the people of the district earn their living from agriculture and animal husbandry. The main crops grown are barley, wheat, chickpeas, lentils, sugar beets, beans, onions, vetch, sainfoin, clover, grapes, apples and quince. Cattle, sheep, and Angora goats are the main animals kept in the district, where cattle and small ruminants are raised.
