Selçuklu

It is the central district of the Seljuk province of Konya.

It is bordered by the districts of Selçuklu, Sarayönü, Kadınhanı, Derbent, Altınekin, Meram and Karatay, which are located in the north of Konya.

It was established on a plain, which is the bottom of a Seljuk lake. Takkeli and Loras mountains rise just to its west.

Seljuk has an arid climate, with very hot summers, snow in winter and abundant rain in spring. The average precipitation is lower than the surrounding provinces. However, precipitation in non-dry years is sufficient for agriculture.
