Toroslar

Toroslar is a central district of Mersin province. It is affiliated to Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. It forms the northeastern part of the city centre. It is the central district with the largest area. There is Akdeniz district in the south, Tarsus in the east, Çamlıyayla in the northeast, Yenişehir and Mezitli districts in the west. The Intercity Bus Terminal of Mersin is located in the Korukent and Çiftçiler neighborhoods of the Toroslar district.
The two largest cemeteries of the city are also within the borders of Toroslar district. Yumuktepe historical monuments, Mersin and Turkey's largest flag are within the borders of Tauruslar district. The entrance to Gözne Plateau, which is one of the largest plateaus in the city, is provided by three large streets passing through the Taurus Mountains.
In the Cagdaskent Neighborhood in the district, Mersin's largest republic square is located.
It took its name from the Taurus Mountains in its north.
