Since Turhal does not have a history written to the present day, it is not known exactly on which date and by whom it was founded. In the research conducted so far, his name is mentioned as Kasen-Kuraşar-Kasiura-Gaygura-Turnalite. The fact that the two inscriptions, which are said to be in Turhal castle, were written in the Sumerian article, shows that Turhal's history dates back to the Sumerians. Considering that the Sumerians lived in the 3000s BC, it is understood that the establishment date of Turhal dates back to 5000 years before today. Ariaretes, one of the Persian nobles, made Gaziura (Turhal) Başkent. During the Armistice and National Struggle years, he put forward his existence under the leadership of Turhal Mustafa Kemal Pasha and gave hundreds of martyrs during the War of Independence.
