Ulus
It is accepted that the history of the nation dates back to 3000 BC. Between 800 BC and 2000 BC, there were incursions and migrations to the region first from the east and then from the west, and the Hittites and contemporary Gasgos lived in this region for a long time. During the Anatolian Seljuk period, Ulus remained within the borders of the Candaroğulları Principality.
During the Ottoman period, the district remained as a small settlement and did not witness any commercial, political or military events.
While Ulus was a sub-district of Safranbolu district, it was made a district of Zonguldak province in 1944. After Bartın became a province with the law numbered 3760 on August 28, 1991, Ulus was connected to the province of Bartın.
