Ümraniye
In Ümraniye, which experienced a population boom after the 1960s, the first municipal organization was established in 1963, but in the military intervention in 1980, this municipality was dissolved and connected to Üsküdar. Later, in 1987, it left Üsküdar, this time as a district. Ataşehir shrank when Sancaktepe and Çekmeköy were made districts in 2008. Ümraniye's neighbors are Üsküdar to the west; Ataşehir in the south; Sancaktepe and Çekmeköy to the east; Beykoz is in the north.
