Üzümlü

Its old name is Cimin. Since the beginning of the 2000s, the population has been in the position of emigrant rather than receiving emigration. There is Altınbaşak town attached to the district. The total number of towns and villages is 24. It is surrounded by the central district of Erzincan in the east, Tercan in the west, Çayırlı in the north, and Pülümür district in the province of Tunceli in the south. There is Altıntepe castle from the Urartu period in the district. It is famous for its distinctive fragrant black currant. And this grape is one of a kind in the world. It has Cimin Grape, the world's first and only patented grape. Excavations have been carried out in Altıntepe Castle near Üzümlü since 2003 under the direction of Mehmet Karaosmanoğlu, a faculty member of Atatürk University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Archeology. The castle was used during the Urartian, Persian, Byzantine and Anatolian Seljuk periods. A temple from the Urartian Period (850-600 BC), reception hall/Apadana, Open Air Temple, 3 chamber tombs built underground with stones, and the remains of the city walls and the stone foundations of the entrance gate can be seen in the castle. There is a church structure and fortification walls from the Byzantine period. Üzümlü, a town municipality organization was established in 1930 and affiliated to the central district of Erzincan, received district status in 1987.
