Yenifakılı

Yenifakılı is a district in the south of Yozgat province, bordering Nevşehir.

Yenifakılı, located at an altitude of 1036 m above sea level, has a population of 6,360 together with its villages and towns, according to the 2010 census (TUIK data). The district, which has an area of 378 km², has a town municipality called Bektaşlı and 6 villages. Most of the district, where the continental climate is seen, is steppe.

Most of the people of the district earn their living from agriculture and animal husbandry. The main crops grown are barley, wheat, chickpeas, lentils, sugar beets, potatoes and beans. The cattle, sheep, hair goats and angora goats are the main animals kept in the district where cattle and small cattle breeding are carried out. There are flour factories as industrial facilities in the district.
