Yenipazar
It is a district of Bilecik province. While it was a sub-district of Söğüt until 1926 and a sub-district of Gölpazarı after 1926, it was given the status of a district with the law numbered 3392, and became a district as of August 11, 1988. It became a Municipality on March 26, 1989. The lands of the district, formerly known as Kırka, passed into the hands of Alexander the Great in 336 BC, after the Hittites, Phrygians, Lydians, and Persians respectively. The region, which was connected to the Kingdom of Bithynia in the Hellenistic period, BC. In the first century, it was attacked by the Persian-born but Greek-speaking Pontus State. Nicomedes the Third, the last king of Bithynia, appealed to the Romans for help. The Kingdom of Pontus was defeated. When Nicomedes the Third, King of Bithynia, died, this region joined the Roman Empire as per his will. The region, which was later annexed to the Byzantine Empire, was conquered by the Anatolian Seljuks in 1074, but this sovereignty was short-lived. In 1097, the region again passed into the hands of Byzantium. The region, which was later attached to the Iznik Greek Empire, was captured by Osmanoğulları in 1323. The region, which was captured by the Candarogullari in 1402, passed into the hands of the Ottomans again in 1419. During the Ottoman period, it was first connected to the Sultanönü (Eskişehir) sanjak. At the beginning of the 15th century, it was a village in the Göynük district of the Bursa sanjak of the Anatolian state. Later, Göynük district was connected to the Bolu sanjak in the middle of the 16th century. In 1694, the Bolu sanjak was reduced to a voivodeship, that is, to an independent district, and Göynük to a sub-district. This situation lasted until 1811. In 1811, Bolu became an independent sanjak, that is, the Mutasarraf. In 1864, Bolu sanjak was connected to Kastamonu province. Kırka, which took the name of Yenipazar in this period, was a village in the Göynük District of the Bolu Sanjak. In 1894, together with today's Mihalgazi and Sarıcakaya districts, it was connected to the Söğüt district of Ertuğrul sanjak whose center was Bilecik.
