Yeşilyurt

Yesilyurt is a district of Tokat province. The name of the district is mentioned as Musa or Musacık in the records of 1522 and 1907, and as Arabacımusa in the records of 1925. Previously, it was a village of Sulusaray, which was a sub-district center of Artova district at that time, on 20 August 1971 it became a town with the status of municipality. The settlement took the name "Yeşilyurt" on 27 July 1983. Yeşilyurt gained the status of a district with the law published in the official gazette dated 04.07.1987 and numbered 19507.
