Yunusemre

Yunusemre is one of the districts of Manisa province in Turkey's Aegean Region. On November 12, 2012, Manisa became a separate district with the division of the city center into two. With a population of 257,993 people, it is the district with the highest population of Manisa. The name of the district comes from Yunus Emre, a sufi and Turkish folk poet who lived in the 13th century. The district is established on the Gediz Plain and at the foot of Spil Mountain and Yamanlar Mountain. There are Spil and Yamanlar Mountains in the south of the district, Menemen district of İzmir in the west, Yunt Mountains in the north, Şehzadeler district in the east and Saruhanlı district in the northeast. The Gediz River passes through the district and north of the settlements. The main economic livelihood of the district is agriculture and industry. Here you can visit historical places such as Yoğurtçu Castle, Aigai Ancient City, and Aynıali Mosque.
