Famagusta

Famagusta is a port city on the island of Cyprus. It is the administrative center of Famagusta District of the Republic of Cyprus and Famagusta District of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Famagusta is one of the most fortified ports in the Mediterranean. It forms a step between the Near East and Europe.

The main development of Famagusta coincides with the Lusignan period.
