Berit Mountain climbing
It is 30 km from the town of Elbistan in the northwest of Kahramanmaraş. Located in the southwest of Berit Mountain, the highest peak is 3,014 meters. With its elevation, it is the second highest mountain of Kahramanmaraş. This mountain falls on the north side of Süleymanlı (Zeytun) and Ilıca. The structure of Berit Mountain, which is a part of the Taurus fold mountains, consists of Paleozoic aged layers. On the north-facing slope of the mountain, there are ice troughs from the glacial period. The lower slopes of Berit Mountain are forested. There is a crater lake on Berit Mountain that produces sulphurous gases. You should definitely check the weather conditions on your way. Because the weather can change all the time. It is preferred by many mountaineers every year for climbing, hiking and adventure purposes.
