Ilya Chavchavadze State Drama Theatre
The Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze Drama Theater (Batumi State Drama Theatre), which first opened its doors in 1952, is the oldest theater in Batumi and is of great importance for Georgian literature. The historical building, designed by I. Teplitski in classical Batumi architecture, is one of the most important symbols of the city and gave its name to the famous Theater Square with the Neptune Statue in front of it.
