Tarsus Nature Park and Zoo
The zoo, which was previously located in the city center and had a small number of small animals, was moved to the north of Tarsus urban fabric by the Tarsus municipality on 27 December 2013. The 110-decare garden is in Bolatlı Neighborhood. southwest of the Berdan Dam Lake. Visitors follow the Blue Boulevard in Tarsus and reach the zoo after the highway viaduct. Those coming from Mersin, on the other hand, turn north at the Hal junction before entering Tarsus, and after 1.5 kilometers follow a street parallel to the water canal to reach the Zoo. There are many species in the zoo, including lions and tigers. In 2018, zebra was included in the garden as the 81st species. It has also been announced that elephants and giraffes will be procured in 2019. Mersin Metropolitan Municipality announced that an application will be made for the registration of the zoo, which is currently group B, as a group A zoo.
