Kiraz Plateau
Kiraz Plateau is one of the natural highland plateaus located within Trabzon Province, in the Black Sea Region of Türkiye. The plateau has largely preserved its natural environment and is especially known for its cool climate, rich vegetation, and wide panoramic views during the summer season.
Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,800–2,000 meters above sea level, Kiraz Plateau reflects the typical geographical features of the Black Sea highlands, with lush meadows, surrounding forests, and mist-covered mountain landscapes. The area offers strong potential for nature tourism, including hiking (trekking), camping, photography, and eco-tourism activities.
Traditional wooden highland houses can be found throughout Kiraz Plateau. During the summer months, local residents continue seasonal transhumance and livestock farming, allowing visitors to experience authentic highland culture and daily life. With its clean air and tranquil atmosphere, the plateau serves as a natural retreat for travelers seeking to escape urban environments.
Access to Kiraz Plateau is generally possible during the summer season, and some sections of the road may be unpaved. For this reason, the plateau is commonly visited as part of private tours and nature- and highland-focused travel programs.
