Ersizlerdere Canyon

In the Kure district of Kastamonu, the village is named "Ersizler" because all the men holding a gun were martyred in the War of Independence.In Kastamonu, which was among the provinces that gave the most martyrs in the War of Independence, 38 men holding a gun from the village, which was later divided into two villages and named "Ersizler" and "Ersizdekire", and then "Dereköy", went to the front.Men who fought heroically for their homeland and nation in the First World War, the Balkan War and the War of Independence would not return to their village after the victory.The village, whose men who went to the front were martyred, was called "Ersizler" in the first years of the Republic. The village, which was named Dereköy before the Republic and "Ersizler" with the proclamation of the Republic, was divided into two separate mukhtars in 1961, Ersizler and Ersizdekire.The canyon right next to the Ersizdekire village was also known as Ersizdekire Canyon. The canyon and the surrounding area of 217 hectares, which is 8 kilometers away from Küre town, has been declared as "Ersizdekire Nature Park".
