Mount Cudi

Mount Cudi (Arabic: ٱلْجُودِيّ, el-Jūdiyy; Kurdish: Cûdî; Aramaic: קרדו, Qardū) is a mountain with an elevation of 2,144 metres (6,935 ft) located in the Silopi district of Şırnak Province, Turkey. In early Christian tradition and Islam, it is believed to be the place where Noah's Ark landed after the Flood. Located in an arid region, the higher parts of Mount Cudi receive a lot of rain. Therefore, there are pine and oak forests between 1,500 and 2,000 metres. Mount Cudi, which is 15 km from the Turkey-Iraq border and has an ellipse shape, has four peaks exceeding 2,000 metres. The one of these, at 2,017 metres, is known as the "Visit Hill of the Prophet Noah".
