Uludoruk
Uludoruk Glacier is on Reşko Hill on Buzul Mountain, within the borders of Hakkari province. The glacier, with an area of 8 km² and a length of 4 km, is Turkey's largest valley glacier. Hans Bobek's research in 1937 determined that the glacier descended to 2600 m. In 1948, during the research of Sırrı Erinç, it was determined that the last glacial tongue reached 2900 m. The area of the glacier was determined as 1.13 km² in 1976 satellite images and 0.77 km² in 2007. While there was no shrinkage in the circus area of the glacier, the tongue of the glacier receded significantly. Glacial regressions, which are thought to be the result of global climate change, are evident in the area. Shrinking glaciers disintegrate, small pieces disappear over time.
