Ulugöl Plateau
Ulugöl is a landslide embankment lake located within the borders of Haruniye village and Süleymaniye village in Gölköy district, Ordu province. It is the largest lake in Ordu province. It is located 1200 m above the sea. The lake has an average depth of 15 m. Three lakes were formed in the landslide area, the largest of which is Ulugöl. Çepekli Lake and the other small lake are covered with reeds. It was formed when the gap in the landslide area filled with water. In 2017, intense aquatic plant growth was observed in the water and an investigation was carried out. The lake is fed by groundwater and surface water. There is no pollution, it has “very good water” and “1st class” water. Water temperature is between 6.6 and 22C.
