Yaralıgöz Mountain
The average altitude of Kastamonu is 780-800 m. While this average peaks with Ilgaz Mountain and its 2578 m peak, it forms the natural border of the province in the south. Just north of this peak, Yaralıgöz Mountain creates the high gate to the coast with its 2019 m peak.Yaralıgöz Mountain is considered the beginning (easternmost tip) of the Küre Mountains, which is a huge range reaching almost to the Amasra ridges. It has such a structure that the Küre Mountains and its peak Yaralıgöz reach just 25 km after the sea, that is, above 2000 m from 0 altitude, and maintain this 25 km distance with an average altitude of 1750 m.
