Abide Hatun Mosque

Abide Hatun, the mother of Kara Mustafa Pasha, had the mosque built in the Karamustafa Pasa Village of the Merzifon district in the 17th century. The mosque, located on a hill in the village, has a fairly regular rectangular plan. There is a narthex with wooden ceiling on the north façade. The most striking aspect of the mosque is the wooden embroidery, one of the most beautiful examples of its kind, in its interior. The ceiling of the interior, consisting of wooden beams, between the beams, and the ceiling of the women's gathering place, carried by a thick beam in the northern part, is colorfully decorated with plant and flower motifs. The wooden gate of the mosque, which is among the most beautiful Ottoman works in terms of decorations, made with the kündekari technique is also worth seeing.
