Abrenk Vank Church
The impressive Abrenk Vank Church, located within the borders of Tercan district, about an hour away from Erzincan, is one of the most important historical treasures of the city. While visiting the famous historical church with two huge obelisks next to it, you will have the chance to see the hundreds of years old stone reliefs on these stones more closely. It is estimated that the obelisks next to the church, which says it was built in 1854, were built in the 12th century Seljuk period. Abrenk Vank Church, which is one of the few Armenian churches that has survived from Anatolia to the present day and attracts attention with its fascinating stone architecture, impresses its visitors with its stunning view on a hill overlooking the region. The church, where you can visit the pilgrimage-shaped main building, which is located on the historical Baghdad road and has been restored in accordance with its original form, is among the most visited places by foreign tourists.
