Adamkayalar (Men of Rock)

Adamkayalar is a canyon in Mersin province famous for its stone reliefs. Adamkayalar is located on the southern slopes of the Taurus Mountains and in what archaeologists call the Olba Territorium. The reliefs can be reached from the state highway connecting Mersin to the west, in the town of Kızkalesi, by a road that turns to the north. The reliefs are located in the Devil Creek canyon, which draws the border between Erdemli and Silifke districts. It is 7 kilometers from Kızkalesi, 30 kilometers from Erdemli, 32 kilometers from Silifke and 66 kilometers from Mersin. However, at the end of the road, visitors must descend from a 10-meter yard and walk 100 meters in the canyon to descend into the canyon. In the surrounding area, there are the ruins of an ancient city.
