Afyonkarahisar Historical Mansions and Houses
There are around 400 houses in Afyonkarahisar, which have a historical texture, are registered as immovable cultural assets that need to be protected, and have exterior protection. These houses, which are taken under protection within the urban protected area, are the first settlements of the city around the castle. With the appropriations sent by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, since 2002, within the scope of Street Improvement Implementation and Restoration works, in the registered and unregistered structures in accordance with the Conservation Plan approved by the Cultural Heritage Conservation Regional Board and located in the central urban protected area and districts of the province. The facades and roofs of 253 residences and workplaces facing the street and avenue were repaired.
