Ağa Cafer Pasha Mosque
Located on a steep cobblestone pavement on the way to Kyrenia Harbor, the mosque was named after the Ottoman Governor of Cyprus, who donated the land. Although there are claims that it was converted from a Lusignan warehouse, this mosque, which clearly bears the traces of Ottoman architecture, was built in 1580. The rectangular stone structure has 3 main rooms and a single minaret. Ağa Cafer Pasha Mosque is visited by many Muslims today. To the southeast of the mosque is the Hasan Kavizade Hüseyin Efendi fountain, which was built in 1841. The mosque, which has 3 arches on its northern facade, is carved with stonework in the middle arch of cross, coat of arms and branch shapes.
