Agia Paraskevi Monastery

Agia Paraskevi Monastery, built in a magnificent nature opposite Çamlık Bay, is one of the historical places of Ayvalık. The monastery, located on Tamarhane Island, is also called by this name because it was called "Taşlı Monastery" by the Turks. The reason why it is called "The Madhouse Island" is due to the aim of bringing the mentally ill to this island and treating them with natural beauty and the sound of water. The monastery, which is thought to have been built about a century ago, covers a very large area up to the Dalyan Strait. The ruined stones from the monastery and the stones that integrate with nature create a very interesting image.
