Akdağmadeni Old Prison
The old prison building is in Akdağmadeni District. It has a rectangular plan, has two entrances, front and back, and its two-storey front facade is built of marble cut stone and quarry stone, and its roof is covered with tiles. It has a large double-winged door with round arches and arched windows. The outer walls are completely covered with cut marble. In the middle of the door arch, there is a profiled lion relief and the words "Maşallah" and "Subhanallah" are written in a circle on both sides of it. There is a triangular pediment on the door arch and embossed flower motifs inside it. Inside, on both floors, there is a central courtyard with 10 columns and a rectangular plan. The columns are arched and the upper floor is vaulted. The upper floor portico floors are stone and the rooms are wooden. Upstairs there are 11 rooms, one of which is small. From the courtyard opposite the entrance, two stone stairs on the right and left lead to the rear entrance, which has two wings at the level of the back street. The eaves of the building should be wiped, and the roof is covered with tiles. On the upper part of the door of one of the upper floor rooms, the date 1316 (Hijri) is written in relief. After the building was restored, it started to be used as "Akdağ Madeni District Public Library".
