Aksaray Ulu Mosque
Aksaray Ulu Mosque, also known as Karamanoğlu Mosque, is a mosque located in the center of Aksaray. On the inscription of the mosque, which is located on a masonry hill, it is written that it was built by Architect Mehmet Firuz Bey in 1408-1409 by Karamanoğlu Mehmet Bey.
The mosque, which is supported by solid buttresses on the other side, has an inclined rectangular plan, with the western portal adorned with the typical ornaments of the Anatolian Seljuk Principalities. It underwent major repairs in 1482-1483 during the reign of Mehmet Bey's son, İbrahim Bey. Its present minaret was built in 1925.
