Sinop Alaeddin Mosque, Seljuk period structure located in the city center of Sinop province. The mosque, named after the famous Anatolian Seljuk State sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I, is the largest Seljuk mosque in Northern Anatolia. In the center, on Sakarya Street; It is close to the Government Square. It is near the historical Sinop bath and Pervane Madrasa. It is the oldest mosque type building with a transverse nave and a wide courtyard, suitable for keeping long rows, called "Arab mosques". It is also known as the "Great Mosque". The construction year of the mosque, its plan features and the identity of its architect and architect are not known for certain. It was built by the Seljuk ruler Alaeddin Keykubad I after the conquest of Sinop by the former Ahlatşah ruler Atabeg Ayas, who entered the service of the Seljuks after he lost his throne; It is suggested as a strong possibility that it was completely destroyed during the attack of the Trabzon Komnenos in 1261 and was rebuilt on its old foundations by Pervâne Muineddin in 1268. The building, which underwent extensive repairs in 1376 and 1861, was restored in 2008-2009. There is the Candarogullari tomb in its courtyard.
